I read this morning on Military.com that Pensacola OCS will close with the graduation of this class. Even though I went to OCS in Newport, Rhode Island (in the WINTER, no less), it's still a bit sad, another passing of an era. My dad went to "knife and fork" school there when he was commissioned and of course, I've know many aviator friends over the years share their P'cola OCS stories. The Military.com article states: For Pensacola residents accustomed to seeing officer candidates out on the town in their dress white uniforms, an era is ending. "It is one of those things you don't appreciate until they tell you it's going," said Jack Williams, whose family owns Seville Quarter, a popular block of clubs and restaurants frequented by officer candidates.
