Hiking Through Life

Wow! it hardly seems like a year ago that I went to DC to stay with Suz for three weeks awaiting the birth of little Jess. Now next week (June 4th to be exact) he will be one year old. I knew I wouldn't get to be there on his actual birthday so I did an early birthday trip and had a great time. That little Jess is the cutest little bug! When he smiles his whole face just lights up like the sun. I can't believe how much his older brother and sister are getting too. Ian is almost as tall as I am and just the best big brother. Evelynn is a real fire cracker and as expressive as the day is long. These "long" weekends are just too short...

Then and now... The photo on the left was out passport photo when Mom and I traveled to France to stay with Dad for a year while he was assigned to the French Embassy there. The photo on the right was taken 54 years later. I feel so blessed.

It's hard to believe, but we're almost finished with the book!! It's been quite an adventure with lots of ups and downs but I think we're all about ready to have our lives back. We've all learned so much from this effort and especially from all the folks to shared their stories and their lives with us. Ty did a great job on the cover and Rhonda on the photos. It should be ready in about 3 weeks!! Yippee!
