San Antonio, TX; Johnson City, TN; Springfield, VA...

So what do all those cities have in common? Those are the places I will have traveled to for one reason or another in the span of one week.

San Antonio: Ed Gray and I had a great three days of training the Army in the Military Marriage Mentoring program. We also had the opportunity to talk with some young soldiers and it was a real wake-up call for both of us when we heard how none of the them could think of even on couple who had served as a model of a good marriage! We pray God will work in and through the mentors they come in contact with and that He will heal and strengthen their marriages.

Unfortunately the trip to San Antonio conflicted with Sam and Drea's trip to Memphis for the wedding of Sam's best friend Brandon. They enjoyed their visit, but I only got to see them from about 9 PM on Saturday till Sunday afternoon. Still, it was good to get to hold and cuddle that precious Adelaide. What a sweetie.

Johnson City: I left with Sam and Drea Sunday after church and we shared a snack at Sonic in Nashville before I headed on to JC and they headed north towards home in Indiana. I didn't discover until I was near Cookeville that Ed had forgotten to put my suitcase in the car!! OK, so it was pretty hectic that day with all the coming and going, so I understand. When I got my breathing back to normal, I had him check for a nearby Walmart where I could buy all the stuff I would need (toiletries mostly). I stayed at a hotel in JC and got up bright and early to go take my oral exam for my state liscensure. I think I did OK, but thought all the way home of how I could have answered the questions better. That was a 9 hour drive there Sunday and a 9 hour drive home Monday.

Springfield: Mom and I leave at 0'dark-thirty tomorrow, pick up my cousin Mary Lynn at exit 126, then head to Princeton, WV for Mom and her twin brother to celebrate their 95th birthday together. Wow! huh? Then we head to visit Suzannah and her family in Springfield, VA. Mom hasn't seen Jess the newest addition to the family. On the way home we hope to stop in Louisville for lunch so she can meet Adelaide, her other new great-grandchild born this year.

I'll post pictures, of course...
