Now for the other tag...

50 years ago, I was 5 and living on Carrolton Road in Norfolk, Virginia. My Dad was stationed at Naval Air Station Norfolk and I believe he worked at COMFAIRLANT. My best friend was Audrey and we loved to play cowboys and Indians (she was the cowboy and I was the Indian). That worked well till I tied her up to a tree and forgot to go back and untie her until suppertime one day.

40 years ago, I was 15 and a sophomore at Great Mills High School in Great Mills, MD. We lived on base at Patuxent River Naval Air Station where my Dad was stationed with one of the P-3 squadrons. My best friends were Cyndy Stroud and Nancy Reinhart. That was my last year in the marching band so I would have more time to devote to singing with the chorus and then the jazz ensemble. I was taking voice and piano lessons from Brantley Greeson, started dating Glenn Melvin that year, and thoroughly enjoyed life.

30 years ago, I was 26, divorced, and a single Mom of Suzannah who was 5 years old. We were living on Lake Ave in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. My Dad had died the year before and a few months after that my mother had moved back to Tennessee. I was back in college full time studying communications and geography and was self-employed as a private detective, doing "skip tracing" and serving sermons. My best friend was Jeanette Clausen and Suzannah played with her daughter Erin. Suzannah attended an open alternative school called The Learning Center.

20 years ago, I was 36 and a Navy Lieutenant stationed at Sea Strike Wing One at NAS Cecil Field, FL. I had married and was divorced again. Suzannah (15), Sam(5), and I lived in Orange Park, FL. Suzannah attended Orange Park High School and played flute and piccolo in the marching band. Sam was in kindergarten at Orange Park Kindergarten and his best friend was Matt Grondin whose father Jack was the drummer with the rock band 38 Special. We attended Lakeside Church of Christ where I taught cradle roll class and was very involved with both the children's activities. It was a happy time and we loved our neighbors Linda and Danny Pierce and their children Amber and Damien.

10 years ago, Ed and I had been married 3 years and we were living in Bartlett where we live now. I was a Commander in the navy and the Officer in Charge of the Personnel Support Detachment at Millington. Suzannah was married and had just had her first child Ian in July of that year. She and Jason and Ian were living in Alexandria, VA. Sam was a sophomore at Bolton High School and playing trumpet in the marching band (there's a theme here...) We were attending Sycamore View Church of Christ (still are). Ed was working at Ideal Travel.

5 years ago, Suzannah's second child and my very special first granddaughter Evelynn was born on January 10th! Sam was attending Lipscomb University and told me on our November backpacking trip on the Appalachian Trail that he had met the woman he wanted to marry and they were planning an October 2003 wedding. I was attending Harding University Graduate School in the counseling program and working as the director of the Navy Equal Opportunity and Sexual Harassment Prevention program. Ed was working for Guardsmark at St. Jude
Hospital.

Whew!

You can see why when we were dating Jason asked "Is there anything your mom hasn't done? BTW, I think you were serving "summons" not "sermons" as a private detective...though maybe I'm wrong. ;)

You are so right!! "Summons" NOT "sermons"!! Though maybe I did that on occasion to the folks I served a summons on!
With the first three letters of your last name being BRA, it makes for some pretty interesting other names....But so Leanne!!!! I love you and am so glad that you and Ed are a part of my life!
