Our trip to Indiana last week was GREAT!! We celebrated Drea's birthday early and enjoyed spending time with everybody. That little Adelaide is really a cutie and I held her just as much as I could. It's hard to believe she's going to be one year old in just over a month. Church Sunday was really nice. I'm always so proud of Sam and his work there and we really enjoy Scott and Lisa (the minister and his wife), too. We all went to a little diner in Borden for lunch before Ed and I headed back to Memphis.
What a surprise to wake up this morning to seven inches of snow!! The weather folks had predicted about 2-3 inches for Memphis, but the Lord came through with more. We haven't had any snow all year so to get it in March was a real treat for those of us who love the white stuff. Ed and I put on our snow boots and headed out into it a little after 7 AM and then we drove about 20 miles to a catfish place in Galloway, TN where we had a down-home breakfast (no catfish, of course.) I'm sure the sun will melt most of it by tomorrow, but it sure it pretty now.
God has truly blessed us.

I don't have a photo of Fogarty but I can offer some pages from the Slocum book, scanned from installments which appeared in issues of The Century Magazine for 1898. Click on image to enlarge the title page. Captain Slocum was already famous in the 1880s as skipper (and part-owner) of the famous clipper ship Northern Light before he took Spray around the world singlehandedly. Fogarty's illustration depicts Slocum with calking tools in hand being confronted by locals at the Fairhaven boatyard wher...
